HI, MY NAME IS SPENCER AND IM NEW TO THE JET BOAT WORLD. IM LOCATED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TEMECULA AREA, CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A 73' TAHITI-455-BERKELEY 12JC. JUST LOOKING FOR ANY TIP ANYONE CAN OFFER, THANKS IN ADVANCE

LOL, WINKY I ALREADY HAVE 2 JOBS. GUESS IM ON THE RIGHT TRACK, I KNOW THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE SPORT. BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT THE FUN, ENJOYMENT, AND MEMORIES ARE ALL WELL WORTH EVERY DIME.

No Shame in working two Jobs , alot of you folks don't likley know I do it every day and have been for 15 years , I get up early and work my first one (AMCC)  till around 10/11 then work at JBP till 7/8 Guys gotta do whats neccesary to keep food on the table and buy toys ! Tom

I would second that! Tom and Josh are ALWAYS available. Hell 8:00 last night Tom was still in the shop........ Josh is a little more reluctant to give out his cell phone number though......can't blame him,  ;D

1. OILING ISSUE-ENGINE DEVELOPS AIR POCKETS WHILE BOUNCING AROUND AND NOT OIL ENGINE PROPERLY
Big Oil pan (10 qts or better), reworked standard volume pump with increased pressure (simple mod) deburr and relieve all oil returns including external returns (desired) , modify the lifter valley windage tray , restricted pushrods (hdwr store roll pins) and on and on , first real job I had was at Olds dealer circa 1971 Josh and I build Olds's regularly ...

2. RPM ISSUE-MOTOR DOESNT LIKE TO BE REV'D OVER 4K RPM'S
does it miss ? cut out , or "lay down" more info a moderatley built Olds will turn an A impeller around 4600 rpms

3. RELIABILITY ISSUES-WHEN ADDING PERFORMANCE PARTS THE MOTOR CANT HANDLE LIKE A BBC OR BBF
Yes they can be made reliable with very carefull builds and the right parts , (especially combinations)
